| The first Sampson Goldstone, (1838-1891) married to Jane Barnett. Ten children came of this union. His father, Michael, had started his career in the Lancashire markets as a peddler, then as a quill manufacturer, and finally expanded into the jewelry business, into which Sampson also came.
